Hey everyone! Well here I go, my very first post on my very own weblog. What to write, what to write. First, why the strange weblog name? Well it's a nickname that an old friend had given me. It's a combination of my nickname (Mindi) and Cinderella (which I collect). Kinda corny but it works. Besides, the name I really wanted "It's My Life" was already taken -- although the Bon Jovi song of the same title could be my theme song -- if I was the type of person to have a theme song -- which of course I am.
The Reason Why I'm Doing This
Not sure really. To get experience in creating websites, which is my new interest right now. I think it'll primarily be a journal for my training. A place to record my thoughts and feelings on a particular day and what I did. Although I can't imagine anyone who would want to read about my hectic, crazy life except for my trainer Brian - who is amazing I might add and gives me tons of encouragement. For those of you visiting and know me also know that in the past year I have lost an incredible amount of weight. Over a 100 pounds to be exact and still dropping. I can't believe that I actually have athletic goals this year. I really want to do the Camp Pendleton 10k Mud Run this year and I really want to do the Suzuki RocknRoll Marathon next year. I think doing a marathon the year you turn 40 is a good goal to have. It's something to strive for anyway. Plus, since last November, I've started speed skating. It's my new passion in life and I don't see it waning anytime soon. As a matter of fact, I'm loving every minute of it. I have Apolo to thank for that. My admiration for him, his determination and his passion for skating have pulled me into the crazy world of short track. I've met incredible friends, including other skaters, and have done amazing things with my life that I would never have even dreamed of a year ago. Am I insane, most likely. Do my friends understand? No they don't. But that's okay, they're my friends and they love me anyway. Those that don't understand and want me to grow up and act my age aren't really my friends are they? But I digress.
Anyway, that's about it for now. If I ever decide to upgrade I'll post pictures too. I hope those of you that visit me have fun!
