All right it's Sunday and my birthday "weekend" is officially over. Bummer. It was very quiet. Everyone is now planning for next year since that's a "big" one. I went shopping with Melissa yesterday and her friend Elvira. Elvira's very nice. Tall and beautiful. Which at one time would've bothered me but not anymore. I got gift certificates for my birthday and I wanted to spend them. Unfortunately we didn't go to a mall that I could use my certificates at but I got a couple of cute halter tops for summer and a couple pairs of shorts. Which is okay since I have NO summer clothes at all and the ones I did hang on to are waaay too big for me now. I also bought a couple of new cd's, used of course. I got Nellyville, Nappy Roots and the soundtrack to Ladyhawke (one of my all time favorite movies).
I went skating today too. It was a pretty good practice session. Very small class and no novice coach but still fun. There were a couple of new faces and my skates were there so that was good. Had fun as usual. Felt like a complete idiot -- again as usual but I think I may be making progress. I hope. I can almost balance on one skate. That's some sort of progress right?
I signed up for my next race too. It's in June. June 14 to be exact. It's another 5k so another 3.2 miles or so. This one I have to try and get pledges and I hate doing that. I hate asking for money. It's for the SD Blood Bank. The firm I work for is putting together a team so I signed up. I thought "what the hell." I did it before I can do it again. And speaking of jobs I'm about ready to start looking for another one. I'm just not happy there. It seems that the harder I try the more mistakes I make and the more upset people get with me. Unfortunately, there isn't much out there either and it's the only thing I know how to do. We'll have to see what happens. I updated my resume again this weekend just in case.
Anyway I needed to laugh and relax this weekend and I did get a chance too. Finally! Everyone needs to check out April's "Mission" statement on her blog. Pretty cool. Definitely made me smile. So if you read this Ape -- THANK YOU!
